| episode_narrative | Isolated thunderstorms developed over portions of the central deserts during the afternoon hours on July 10th. The stronger storms produced gusty outflow winds reaching to at least 50 mph at times and the strong winds generated areas of dense blowing dust to the southeast of the Phoenix area. A weather spotter near Sun Lakes measured a gust to 51 mph late in the afternoon; the winds dropped visibility to 75 feet in dense blowing dust. Earlier, at about 1445MST, another spotter 1 mile west of Coolidge reported visibility down to one quarter of a mile in a dust storm. No damage was reported due to the strong and gusty winds and no accidents occurred as a result of severely restricted visibilities in dense blowing dust. |

The stronger storms produced gusty outflow winds in excess of 40 mph which generated areas of dense blowing dust leading to dust storm conditions. At 1623MST a trained spotter 4 miles east of Sun Lakes measured a wind gust to 51 mph at his house; he also reported visibility as low as 75 feet in dense blowing dust. A Dust Storm Warning was issued at 1613MST and it continued until 1700MST however the warning was in effect for an area a bit to the west of where the trained spotter was located. |
