| episode_narrative | A cold front moved through the Oklahoma Panhandle during the early morning hours of the 27th. The strong winds behind the front lofted dirt into the air which led to isolated dust storm conditions. The lowered visibility led to a 10 car pile up on Highway 54 near Tyrone (Texas County) around 12:40 PM CST. The vehicles involved were a combination of cars, trucks, and semi-tractor trailers. One driver was trapped within the vehicle and was only freed after the jaws of life was utilized. Four horses in a trailer being towed by one of the trucks involved were also trapped with one sustaining injuries. No major injuries or fatalities were relayed in relation to this accident. The strong winds subsided by 3 PM CST and brought an end to the localized dust storm conditions. |
