episode_narrativeHigh wind conditions on the 29th lofted dirt into the air to cause Dust Storm conditions for portions of the Texas Panhandle. Dust storm conditions developed over portions of the Texas Panhandle by 8 AM CST and persisted until 1 PM CST. Dust storm conditions caused serious issued for motorist as visibility as low as 200 feet was reported on highway 54 in Dallam County, and 300 feet in Dumas (Moore County). Near zero visibility was reported in Wildrorado (Oldham County), on the southwest side of Amarillo (Randall County), at the NWS office on the northeast side of Amarillo (Potter County), in Stratford (Sherman County), in Claude (Armstrong County), and in Panhandle (Carson County). A report of one city block visibility was reported by a member of the public in Dalhart (Hartley County). By 1 PM CST, high wind conditions over the source region for the dust had begun to diminish and allowed dust storm conditions to end across the Texas Panhandle.
