episode_narrativeA broad upper level trough was moving through the Western United States with a 100+ knot jet moving through New Mexico. This combined with a strong surface low in southeast Colorado brought wind gusts to 96 mph to the area. Some areas across southern New Mexico also experienced dust storms with visibilities below a quarter mile causing interstates and highways to close.
event_narrativeVisibility sensors along the Lordsburg Playa reported visibilities under a half mile. Interstate 10 was closed from the State Line to Lordsburg due to near zero visibilities.
