| episode_narrative | A winter storm system moved across Northwest Kansas, beginning during the evening of the 18th. On the warm side of the system blowing dust occurred, with the lowest visibility reported in parts of Wallace and Logan counties. As the precipitation formed later in the evening, rain changed to snow as winds turned from the northwest to the north and increased. This led to blizzard conditions occurring as the rain changed to snow. Snowfall amounts ranged from trace to around 12 inches, with the highest amounts in northeast Norton County. Wind gusts up to 80 MPH were reported, with the highest gust occurring near Winona. Ground blizzard conditions persisted after the snow ended. All highways in Northwest Kansas were shut down due to the blizzard. |
| event_narrative | A report of visibility from 3/4 mile to below 1/2 mile looking into a plume of dust towards the southwest. This was reported 8 SSW of Weskan. |
