episode_narrativeWind gusts up to 60 MPH, along with localized dust storm conditions, occurred behind the passage of a cold front moving through Northwest Kansas. The strongest winds and blowing dust occurred during the morning hours. The highest gust was reported in Rawlins County. The dust storm conditions were confined the Sherman County where the sky was the most clear, allowing temperatures to be the warmest behind the front causing the dust to be lofted into the air.
event_narrativeNarrow corridors of blowing dust off of fields were reducing the visibility to zero at times in the northeast part of the county. The ground in those fields was bare. Dust storm conditions were also reported between Goodland and Edson later in the morning.
