episode_narrativeThe synoptic pattern was characterized by an area of high pressure centered across the four corners region with a southeasterly steering flow encompassing all of Arizona. MLCAPE between 500-1000 J/KG and DCAPE in excess of 1500 J/KG were more than sufficient to lead to the development of thunderstorm activity, first developing across southeast Arizona and then being steered by the southeasterly flow into south-central Arizona. Portions of the East Valley got particularly hit hard between Gilbert and Mesa, where there were several reports of wind damage. No injuries were reported.
event_narrativeWebcam showed visibility estimated to be about 1/8 mile along the intersection of SR-347 and Riggs Road in blowing dust from thunderstorm outflow. No accidents or injuries were reported.
