| episode_narrative | Outflow boundaries originating from distant thunderstorms converged on the valley floor during the evening hours. This combined with a pocket of upper-level divergence as analyzed by the SPC mesoanalysis resulted in the development of a strong thunderstorm over Chandler. Other weaker thunderstorms developed across the valley as well from the resulting outflow boundaries. A strong thunderstorm that developed near Morristown caused downed powerlines, resulting in the closure of US-60. No injuries were reported. |
| event_narrative | Arizona Department of Transportation camera along State Route 347 near Cement Plant Road showed near zero visibility in dense blowing dust from thunderstorm outflow. In addition, a social media image of a person driving down State Route 347 between W Riggs Road and the Gila River Bridge showed a few hundred feet visibility. No accidents or injuries were reported. |
