| episode_narrative | Dry weather that began in August continued through December. Dry surface and soil conditions remained quite pronounced. Water levels continued to fall slowly, especially in wetlands, small streams, and lakes. Above normal temperatures contributed to further drying. Grass fires continued to be a problem, although there were not as many as in November. Agricultural concern was mostly for the future start of the growing season, but there were some effects of the drought noted to winter wheat. |
