| episode_narrative | Moderate drought conditions persisted through much of the first half of September over south coastal South Carolina. A tropical airmass combined with a frontal system to produce 6 to 10 inches of rain over eastern Berkeley and northeast Charleston Counties around September 5. Then the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon produced six to nine inches of rain over portions of south coastal South Carolina around September 18th. Finally, on September 21-23, the remnants of Tropical Storm Helene produced generally another 3 to 8 inches with Doppler estimates of eight to 14 inches over northeast Charleston County and Berkeley County. The tropical airmass early in the month and the remnants of the tropical storms all combined to bring drought conditions to a more normal state. |
