episode_narrativeStrong winds and extremely cold wind chills developed over Maine as and area of low pressure moved into the Canadian Maritimes and an area of arctic high pressure built eastward from central Canada. Wind chill temperatures over northern Maine dropped to between 40 and 45 degrees below zero and dropped to around 25 degrees below zero in southern parts of the state. In northern Maine the extreme wind chill temperatures persisted for about 48 hours.
