Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAn unusually late season frost occurred over many parts of northwest Kentucky, mainly north of the Western Kentucky Parkway. Lows were mostly in the middle 30's. The lowest temperature reported was an unofficial reading of 33 degrees at Sturgis (Union County). This was the last of four consecutive frosty mornings. Lows each morning from May 1st to the 4th were about the same, mostly in the middle 30's. The combination of cold weather and drier than normal soil slowed the development of some early-planted corn and soybeans.
