Sub-freezing temperatures occurred in the Central and Southern San Joaquin Valley late in the evening of the 28th and continued in some areas as late as December 8th. The coldest reading was 25 degrees in Hanford (Kings County) on the morning of the 29th. Cold weather extended into the first widespread killing frost of the season for the Kern Deserts on the morning of the 30th.
