The freeze caused nearly four million dollars worth of damage to the tropical fish crop in Hillsborough county.In Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte and Lee counties, low temperatures ranged from the middle 20s inland to the lower 30s along the immediate coast with durations below freezing for up to six hours. In Lee county, the freeze caused nearly 2.6 million dollars worth of damage to the squash and cucumber crops. In Charlotte county, the freeze caused nearly 250 thousand dollars in damage to the pepper crop. |
