| episode_narrative | July 2000 was one of the coolest and wettest Julys on record for the Maryland Eastern Shore. In both Chestertown (Kent County) and Royal Oak (Talbot County), it was the coolest July on record for both stations. The July monthly mean temperature for Chestertown was 73.0 degrees. Records began in 1937. In Royal Oak, the July monthly mean temperature was 74.2 degrees. Records began in 1948. On a county weighted average, all of the Eastern Shore counties were wetter than normal with Kent southward through Talbot County receiving about twice the normal July monthly rainfall. County weighted monthly totals ranged from 5.2 inches in Cecil County to 8.1 inches in Talbot County. Normal monthly rainfall is around 4 inches. |
