Only a weak low pressure system was reflected at the surface, which passed to the south. Snow developed in southwestern Ohio by 0000E on the 21st. The snow moved east, into northeast Kentucky during the predawn.||Northeast Kentucky was on the fringe of the main band of snow. Most accumulations were around 3 to 4 inches by late afternoon. In the wake of the storm, clearing and light winds allowed temperatures to drop below zero for dawn on the 22nd. Olive Hill was 11 degrees below zero for the coldest in northeast Kentucky, while Grayson was 7 below zero, and Ashland reached 3 below zero. |
