This cold airmass allowed temperatures to drop below freezing prior to midnight and remain so until the mid-morning hours on the 18th. These subfreezing temperatures threatened sensitive vegetation during the start of the growing season. Overnight lows ranged from 21 degrees at Gruver (Hansford County) to 32 degrees at Canadian (Hemphill County).
