With high pressure overhead, the combination of clear skies and light winds allowed temperatures to dip below 32 degrees during the early morning hours. It was reported by the Wisconsin Crop Progress Report that 50 percent of grape growers in Vernon County experienced damage to the crop, as the vines were in their primary bud stage. There was also some damage to the strawberry crop in Trempealeau County as some plants were already flowering.||Low temperatures ranged from 26 degrees at Sparta (Monroe County) and Camp Douglas (Juneau County) to 30 degrees at Richland Center (Richland County) and Gays Mills (Crawford County).
