This was the first of two periods of much below normal temperatures which impacted south Florida during January 2010.

Temperatures dropped to just below freezing for 1 to 2 hours on the mornings of January 6 and 7. Lowest temperature readings ranged from 30 to 32 degrees in Jupiter Farms, Loxahatchee and Belle Glade.||Extent of crop damage is unknown for Palm Beach County, but damage to sugarcane and seasonal vegetable and fruit crops was noted.
