Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAnother strong northwest flow between a high pressure system building in from Canada and a low pressure system deepening over the Canadian Maritimes brought another unseasonably cold shot of air into the Poconos, Berks County, the Lehigh Valley and upper Bucks County. Morning wind chills on the 19th were between zero and 10 degrees below zero in the valleys and as cold as around 20 degrees below zero over the higher terrain, in particular the Pocono Plateau. Actual low temperatures were in the positive single numbers. Since this occurred on President's Day, it did not have the same effect as a typical weekday day. Low temperatures included 1 degree in Mount Pocono (Monroe County), 6 degrees in Springtown and Perkasie (Bucks County), 9 degrees in Easton (Northampton County), 10 degrees at the Lehigh Valley International Airport and 11 degrees in Reading (Berks County).
