The combination of the unseasonably cold air and gusty northwest winds produced wind chill factors as low as zero to 10 degrees below zero during the mornings of the 5th and 6th. The lowest temperatures occurred during the morning of the 6th and were around 10 degrees. The unseasonably cold weather caused many pipes and water meters to freeze across the Eastern Shore. The municipal water system in Millington (Kent County) developed leaks. A water main burst in Chesapeake City (Cecil County). Actual lowest temperatures included 8 degrees at the Baltimore-Washington International Airport, 10 degrees in Easton (Talbot County), 11 degrees in Stevensville (Queen Anne's County) and Salisbury (Wicomico County). |
