Event narrativeevent_narrativeA male went into cardiac arrest and died as a result of being caught in a rip current. Many people tried to help the victim return to shore before rescuers arrived, but they, too, were caught in the rip current. Lifeguards rescued the victim, but he was later pronouced dead at the hospital. Others at the incident were rescued from rip currents and treated by on-scene paramedics.
