Sadly, a woman died in rip currents while attempting to rescue her children on an unguarded beach in the dangerous conditions. |
| Event narrativeevent_narrative | Three individuals, an 8 year old boy, 10 year old boy, and 19 year old girl, came into difficulty in rough waters off the beach of North Wildwood, New Jersey around 2:30PM on September 29. Their 49 year old mother attempted to assist them. She pulled the 8 and 10 year old boys to safety. Emergency responders then arrived to rescue the 19 year old whom the mother had returned to assist. The mother was also pulled from the water, but did not survive. |
