| episode_narrative | Persistent and strong west to northwest winds caused blowout tide conditions to occur at times of low tide along the Delaware River and tidal sections of its tributaries from the overnight low tide on the 10th through the overnight low tide on the 11th. The lowest tide at Philadelphia Pier 12 was -1.98 feet below mean lower low water. Blowout tides begin at -1.80 feet below mean lower low water. The persistent west to northwest winds were caused by the pressure gradient (difference) between a high pressure system that was moving east from the Northern Plains and Great Lakes and an intense low pressure system over the Canadian Maritimes. |
