Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeOn August 6, 2018, around 2 PM the US Coast Guard noticed a vessel had capsized while crossing the bar at the mouth of the Siuslaw River, killing one person. There was weak high pressure over the area at the time, with winds out of the north gusting to 10 kt. Wave heights were generally around 5 to 6 feet with periods at 10 to 11 seconds, but waves in the bar were breaking.

The captain was pulled from the Ocean and later pronounced dead at the hospital. Wave heights at the time were generally around 5 to 6 feet with periods at 10 to 11 seconds, but the waves in the bar were breaking.
