Long period west swell from distant Super Typhoon Haima was impacting the area. Data from Ritidian Buoy indicated a swell between 12 to 18 seconds from the west. While the maximum surf generated by the swell probably was only 5 feet, the long period of the swell could have produced some rip currents. |
