Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA man went into the Gulf to try and rescue two swimmers in distress around 130 pm CDT on August 10th and did not return to shore. Beach Police and surf patrol responded shortly afterwards to a call of swimmers in distress and were able to rescue the initial two swimmers, who were transported to the hospital for observation. On Thursday afternoon, search and rescue located the body of the man offshore by helicopter. A high rip current risk statement was in effect and had been in effect since August 5th. Double red beach flags were also posted.
