| episode_narrative | A strong pressure gradient between high pressure over the Mid-Atlantic states and Tropical Storm Noel over Hispaniola and eastern Cuba caused a prolonged period of strong east winds over Southeast Florida and the adjacent waters. As Noel moved north across the western Bahamas, the strong winds continued across southeast Florida. The event caused severe beach erosion, coastal flooding, and minor wind damage. The event lasted into the first few days of November. |
| event_narrative | High surf began to impact the Miami-Dade County coast on October 29th, with water levels rising sufficiently enough to cause minor to locally moderate beach erosion beginning on October 30th, and continuing through October 31st and into the first few days of November. Areas most affected by the beach erosion were sections of Miami Beach near 29th and 44th streets. ||Maximum storm tide observed at Virginia Key NOS tide gauge was 3.5 feet just before midnight on November 1, and the maximum surge height at that time was 1.08 feet. |
