Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA swell from a deep and powerful low far northwest of the islands generated surf of 20 to 35 feet along the north- and west-facing shores of Niihau and Kauai, and the north-facing shores of Oahu, Molokai, and Maui; and 10 to 18 feet along the west-facing shores of Oahu and the north-facing shores of the Big Island of Hawaii. A catamaran entering Haleiwa Boat Harbor on the North Shore of Oahu on the 15th was hit by 15- to 18-foot waves, with several people being thrown overboard. One woman was injured seriously enough to be transported in stable condition to a hospital. No other injuries were reported. There were no reports of significant property damage.
