episode_narrativeA late season storm developed off the New England coast May 25th. High astronomical tides combined with strong northeast winds and large ocean waves to produce tidal flooding and beach erosion. The tide gauge in Portland Harbor, Maine, topped out at 12.6 feet which was 0.6 feet above the flood stage of 12.0 feet. Boulders the size of basketballs were reported to have washed up on the road in Hampton, New Hampshire where a portion of a seawall was damaged and basements were reported to be flooded.
