| episode_narrative | Rescue workers were able to save a male surfer who went over the reef near Ritidian Point. James Glynn, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services acting manager, said he called the U.S. Coast Guard at 1615 when he received word that two males were boggie boarding,and one had made it back to shore. A helicopter from the Navy's HC-5 squadron hoisted the individual, whose name and age were notavailable, out of the water and took him to Naval Hospital. Immediately after the individual arrived he was transferred by ambulance toGuam Memorial Hospital. The young man was reported in stable Condition. Rescue units from the Guam Fire Department and Andersen Air Force Base Fire Department participated in the rescue. The swells that generated the Hazardous Surf conditions was generated byTropical Storm Utor, which passed west of the Mariana Islands. |
