| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | The very persistent and strong west to northwest winds that started during the afternoon of the 27th coupled with the greater tidal fluctuations associated with the spring tides with the approaching new moon caused blowout tides during the morning low tide cycle on the 28th along tidal sections of the Delaware River in Delaware. At Reedy Point, the low tide reached 1.88 feet below mean lower low water. At Delaware City, the low tide reached 1.93 feet below mean lower low water. Blowout tides start at 1.80 feet below mean lower low water. The northwest winds decreased during the day on the 28th and while tidal levels were below normal astronomical levels, no further blowout conditions occurred. |
