| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | The very persistent and strong west to northwest winds that started during the afternoon of the 27th coupled with the greater spring tides cycles associated with the approaching new moon caused blowout tides during the overnight low tide cycle on the 27th along north coastal New Jersey. At Sandy Hook (Monmouth County), the low tide reached 1.97 feet below mean lower low water. Blowout tide conditions start at 1.80 feet below mean lower low water. The winds decreased on the 28th and while tides were below astronomical levels, additional blowout conditions did not occur. |
