Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA swell from a strong low far northwest of the islands generated surf of 15 to 20 feet along the north- and west-facing shores of Niihau and Kauai, and 10 to 15 feet along the north-facing shores of Oahu, Molokai, and Maui. On the 21st, three individuals were injured when they were swept away on a wave from the Shark's Cove reef area on Oahu's North Shore. Two of the people, women aged 19 and 20, suffered serious head injuries and multiple abrasions. An 18-year-old man sustained minor injuries. Ocean Safety officials were also busy with other rescues, assists, and preventive actions. No significant property damage was reported.
