| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | Tropical Storm Isaac moved west-northwest across the Florida Straits south of the Florida Keys on August 26. The northern edge of the wind and rain area associated with Isaac affected the South Florida peninsula throughout the day on the 26th. Isaac continued on a west-northwest track into the Gulf of Mexico on the 27th with winds, rain and flooding continuing over parts of South Florida. |
| Event narrativeevent_narrative | Severe beach erosion and coastal flooding occurred on Monday, August 27th as the center of Tropical Storm Isaac moved into the Gulf of Mexico. A storm surge of 2.05 feet was measured at the Naples pier. Farther east along the coast, inundation depths as high as 3 feet were reported in Goodland and Everglades City. Inundation in the Naples area was about 1 foot. Most damage from coastal flooding was to infrastructure in the Goodland and Everglades City areas and was estimated at $400,000. ||Severe beach erosion in the Naples and Marco Island areas led to damage estimated at $5.6 million. |
