episode_narrativeDeep low pressure over the north Atlantic combined with high pressure to the north led to a prolonged period of gusty northeast winds and large swells along the coast November 11th through the 13th. These swells produced ocean over-wash over the northern Outer Banks with Highway 12 becoming flooded and impassable at times.
event_narrativeLarge northeast swells and strong onshore flow led to high surf and minor coastal flooding along the Outer Banks north of Cape Hatteras. Highway 12 was flooded and became impassable for hours at a time during high tide cycles from the morning of November 12th through the late evening of November 13th.
