episode_narrativeA swell from a powerful low that passed north of the Hawaiian Islands generated surf of 15 to 35 feet along the north- and west-facing shores of Niihau and Kauai, and the north-facing shores of Oahu, Molokai, Maui, and the Big Island of Hawaii; surf of 6 to 12 feet along the east-facing shores of all the islands except Lanai; and surf of 8 to 15 feet along the west-facing shores of Oahu. Lifeguards performed many rescues and assists during the episode, but there were no significant injuries or property damage.
