episode_narrativeThe combination of the strong northwest winds during the day on the 29th and the larger tide ranges associated with the approaching full moon spring tides produced blowout tides during the late morning into evening low tide on the 29th along tidal sections of the Delaware River as well as in Raritan and Upper Delaware Bays. Low tides reached 1.89 feet below mean lower low water at Sandy Hook (Monmouth County), 2.65 feet below mean lower low water at Reedy Island, Delaware, 2.54 feet below mean lower low water in Philadelphia, and 2.25 feet below mean lower low water in Burlington (Burlington County). At all locations, low water problems start at 1.80 feet below mean lower low water.
