Event narrativeevent_narrativeLocal media reported the drowning of a 75 year old woman in the surf at Public Beach Access #6 on the County portion of South Padre Island, five miles north of the City Limit. Time of the drowning is estimated based on media reports. The body was found later that day and pronounced deceased by the Cameron County Justice-of-the-Peace, Precinct 1. ||Surf conditions were likely choppy with a moderate intensity rip current, based on easterly winds at 15 to 20 knots at NOAA Buoy 42020, east of Port Mansfield.
