Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeLarge surf impacted the New Hampshire Seacoast for days with long period swells from the passage of Hurricane Erin well offshore. The large waves caused dangerous rip currents through the weekend with numerous rescues being reported from Rye Beach to Hampton Beach. On Sunday evening, a farther and son were caught in a rip current that caused an injury and drowning.

A farther and son were caught in a rip current on the evening of August 24th at Hampton Beach. There were no lifeguards on duty at the time. Emergency personal were able to rescue them from the water, but were not able to resuscitate the son.
