| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | An ocean rescue was reported at 10:41 AM on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the Gerstle Cove campground in Salt Point State Park. Two men were standing on rocks at the coast when a wave swept one out to sea. He was flown to land, where emergency personnel performed CPR, but he was pronounced dead at 11:26 AM on Sunday, March 2, 2025. A High Surf Advisory was in effect for the region at the time of the incident, due to an increased risk of sneaker waves and rip currents. Prior to 10:45 AM, wave heights at buoy 46013 were building to 11.2 feet with a dominant period of 16 seconds. |
