Event narrativeevent_narrativeTwo swimmers were in distress about 1 mile south of St. Augustine Beach near the A Street beach access location. One swimmer was rescued by surfers. The 2nd victim become submerged. Surf heights were 1-2 feet. A moderately strong rip current was observed about 100 yards near where the persons entered the water. The victims were not good swimmers and were not from the local area. The time of the incident was approximated based on media video.
