episode_narrativeA natural avalanche occured and ran to the centerline of Highway 550 in the Coal Bank Pass and Molas Pass area. The avalanche was 2 feet deep and 15 feet wide. Highway 550 was closed for 54 minutes while maintenance crews cleared the debris and Colorado Avalanche Information Center personnel conducted mitigation procedures.
