event_narrativeA skier was caught in a rare in-bounds avalanche on Vail Mountain. The avalanche was 100 to 150 feet wide and about 600 feet long. The skier was able to stay on top of the snow and in the end was buried waist deep in snow. The victim's friend was able to dig him out, and the victim was not injured.
